Teen Volunteer Program

ARF’s Teen Volunteer program gives teens in the community an opportunity to contribute to ARF’s mission in a meaningful way, while gaining valuable experience in an animal shelter setting.

Once training is completed, possible volunteer opportunities include:

  • Animal Care
  • Veterinary Clinic
  • Outreach and Events
  • Boutique/Retail
  • And more!

  • 14-15 years old can volunteer as a team with parent or legal guardian (1 to 1 parent child ratio).
  • 16-17 years old can volunteer independently.
  • Teens will be required to make a minimum commitment of 6 months of service .

Cost: $15 fee to cover training materials and volunteer name badge/lanyard.

Due to high demand for this program, teens interested in participating in the Teen Volunteer program must complete an application. If accepted into the Teen Volunteer program, teens will be required to complete an orientation, in-person interview, and training.

We are not currently accepting applications. Please check back in Spring 2018!
