Kitten siblings Max and Cleo aren’t just cute bundles of fur - they’re lifesavers! When their adopter, Kathy, brought them into her life she had no idea they would ever fill any role besides that of beloved pets. But one day while she napped, the kittens bounded on top of her repeatedly, not allowing her to rest. At first she thought they were being playful, but there was an urgency to their frolic that seemed unusual. It was then that Kathy, who is diabetic, realized she wasn’t feeling well and tested her blood sugar. It was dangerously low, and she’d only realized it because of the kittens. “I rescued them, and they rescued me right back,” she says.

Sheamus (known as Apu at ARF) has served a lot of roles since being adopted (explorer, best friend, fetch partner) but recently he was tasked with his most important role yet: ringbearer in his mom and dad’s wedding! With the rings tied to his collar, Seamus sat perfectly and assisted while his parents said their “I do”s. We know it’s the dream of every homeless dog and cat to be part of a family, but few are able to play such an integral part in bringing theirs together. Congratulations to the whole family!

They sleep together, play together, he even loves to have her carry him around and doesn’t seem to mind that she’s a crazy toddler! The moment we walk in the door until she leaves he is in her arms or at her side. They love each other.”
