Support ARF's ongoing FoodShare efforts with a donation today!

ARF believes no one should have to choose between feeding their pets and feeding themselves. ARF's FoodShare program supplies pet food, donated by Purina, to qualifying low-income pet guardians in Contra Costa County.  By providing food to those who cannot afford it - especially during times of high foreclosure and unemployment - Purina helps ARF keep pets at home with their families where they belong, and out of overcrowded public shelters.

FoodShare volunteers are the quiet ambassadors of ARF, providing food, a smile, and a human connection to clients - many of whom are elderly, disabled, and struggling with making ends meet. In addition to hundreds of local families, ARF offers limited FoodShare services to qualifying guardians of community cats.

To qualify

  • Guardian and pet(s) must reside in Contra Costa County, California
  • Pets must be spayed or neutered (certificate required)
  • Proof of household income and photograph identification

If you believe you qualify for FoodShare, please submit an application here.
